The Silicon Valley: Californian birthplace of many flowering Startups. An ideal ecosystem for Andaman7. Venture capitalists, investors, all kinds of networking contacts, potential partners, a wide entrepreneurial population: so many things that I found during my first month internship.
Did I forget to introduce myself? My name is Alexis Rockx, last year student in technical sales. I am currently writing my final work that will be entitled "Optimization of Andaman7's visibility targeting and search of partner in the California market". As you understood marketing and business development here in San Francisco are my main missions.
I did not have too much trouble taking my bearings here because the Andaman7 team had already set foot in San Francisco. The fact that I was directly introduced to Julie, our consultant specializing in healthcare technology, was perfect for me. What a pleasure to talk to an American who already caught the “Andaman7 syndrome” for over a year now.
The first month was dedicated to gather information on the various incubators / accelerators in the region. Despite high expectations from us they are not so interesting for a Belgian StartUp because most of their programs are too time-consuming for an already very busy team. During the networking event I attended, the concept of “Patient Empowerment” seemed to be the thing that drew the most attention. Indeed when I explained that, with Andaman7, there is no more depending on insurance companies to have access to medical records, people are realizing that change is possible and I think THAT should be our strong card to play to conquer the American market.
